Join us in the Henrietta Rose Room to discuss Alan Playford and Penny Keough�s new book Through the Rubble.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Through the Rubble traces Alan Playford�s career from his early struggles to modernise the ambulance service and launch helicopter rescue in Australia to global disasters and humanitarian missions. This memoir recounts Alan�s work in conflict zones, including Rwanda, East Timor and the Soloman Islands, where he provided aid in dangerous conditions and rescued countless lives from the brink of death.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
It is appropriate in the lead-up to Anzac Day that we welcome Australia�s most decorated civilian, Alan Playford, to tell us stories from his inspirational memoir. For three years Alan worked with his co-author, Penny Keogh � who is a business writer, university lecturer and journalist � to piece together his story.
