Mobile Library in Robertson

You told us that visiting our mobile library when it stops in at Robertson might be made an even better experience by moving it, just a short distance, closer to the CTC. So we’re trialling the new location from 13 April.

One of Council’s most popular community-outreach initiatives, our mobile library covers more than 9900km each year, bringing books and audio-resources to smaller villages across our shire.

Community feedback, from our 2022 Mobile Library Survey and recent reconnecting visits, raised the suggestion that placing the service closer to the CTC facilities in Robertson, would make a visit even more enjoyable.

The new location to be trialled is just 290metres from the original stop, directly in front of the CTC on the Illawarra Highway. “With colder months ahead, this provides easy access to shelter from the elements, as well as the CTC Café,” Says WSC Coordinator Library Services, Andrew White.  “It will be a welcome change for locals to be able to grab a coffee to enjoy with their book when they visit the mobile library stops in Robertson.”

The new stop-point will be trialled from 13 April, for the rest of this year.

In 40 years of running the mobile library service, Wingecarribee Public Libraries have continually adapted its delivery to meet the evolving needs and expectations of the communities we serve. On its fortnightly run, the mobile library travels far and wide, from Canyonleigh out west, Avoca, Burrawang and Robertson in the east, north to Hill Top, Balmoral and Yerrinbool and south to Bundanoon, Exeter, Wingello and Penrose, as well as pre-schools in Hill Top, Colo Vale, Robertson and Moss Vale.
