Reading with Dogs - Paws 'n' Tales
Posted on: August 13th, 2025
Does your child love animals and enjoy stories? Looking to improve your child's confidence in reading? Our Reading with Dogs program is a fun and gentle way to help children build confidence, improve reading skills, and boost self-esteem — all with the support of a friendly, furry companion!
- A specialist program designed for children aged 4 to 8 years
- It creates a relaxed, non-judgmental space where children can read aloud to a specially trained therapy dog. These four-legged listeners are calm, comforting, and always happy to hear a story!
By sharing books with a dog, children often feel more confident and motivated to read, helping them to develop their skills while enjoying the magic of storytelling.
There is no charge for the program as it is run on a volunteer basis.
