Restrictions ease for Mobile Library

Posted on: February 10th, 2021

Council’s mobile library, Rural Outreach and Delivery Service (ROADS), is one step closer to its full pre-COVID service following further easing of social distancing restrictions.

As of Tuesday 16 February 2021, two patrons will be able to browse the mobile library’s collection at any one time. The popular Click and Collect service will also continue to be available to interested patrons.

The mobile library service will continue as per the pre-pandemic schedule including an additional stop in Moss Vale’s Leighton Gardens every Friday from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Council’s Chief Information Officer John Crawford said staff were looking forward to welcoming patrons back to the mobile library.

“In-line with NSW Public Health Safety Guidelines we’re also increasing capacity at our Bowral and Mittagong branches and bringing the daily newspapers back for our customers to read in-house,” he said.

Newspapers will be held at the Customer Service Desk with patrons asked to sanitise their hands before and after use.

Mr Crawford said while more services and facilities were returning patrons would still be asked to observe proper hygiene practices.

“The health and well-being of our patrons and staff remains our number one priority,” he stressed. “Their understanding and flexibility to date have been critical in us being able to return these services.”

“It’s therefore really important that we don’t become complacent and we continue to observe the current health guidelines and requirements.”

“We know that our libraries play an important role in our community and we thank all of our patrons for their patience and understanding as we transition back to a fully functioning service.”
